Leaky Gut Syndrome (Are you a victim?)

Leaky Gut is a condition that effects more Americans than we could possibly imagine. Since this condition seems to be  a gray area for regular practitioners, it often times goes untreated and undiagnosed. But a little trip to a Naturopathic Doctor often leads to a quick diagnosis and a  sure treatment plan. If you keep going to the doctors office and leaving without any answers or any hope. Learn the symptoms, tell your doctor your concerns, and if he or she looks at you funny, don't stop looking for an answer, there is always an answer! You will get better!
Leaky Gut Syndrome is a condition of the gut becoming permeable and by which particles of food and bacteria enter the blood stream through the gut lining. This condition is often caused by the use of antibiotics, nutritional deficiencies, environmental toxins, birth control and extended us of prescription drugs, alcohol abuse, parasites, infection, yeast overgrowth, and even stress. This condition causes an array of symptoms and/or conditions. Most often overexposure of  food particles through the gut lining into the bloodstream will cause an auto-immune response, hence food allergies and autoimmune disorders. In some cases a person's immune system can't keep up with the constant flow of toxins, and instead attach themselves to different organs causing infection. Sufferers of leaky gut are often overloaded with toxins from undigested food and/or Candida (yeast) overgrowth thriving on the undigested food, releasing over 70 different toxins into the bloodstream. It really is a recipe for disaster, and sadly most people have NO idea how sick they really are.

The most widely successful treatment for leaky gut is a healing protocol called the GAPS diet in which heals and seals the gut lining and digestive system. To find an incomplete list of symptoms addressed by the GAPS diet, please visit, I am currently working on a complete list of symptoms and conditions addressed, since I have met so many more people that have treated so many different ailments, not included on the GAPS Guide list.
